EFU

Krohe
I couldn't resist--once Erin put it into my head, it wouldn't go away. I tweaked it a little. EFU = Edit Friday Update. Doesn't exactly fit right, but what the hell. I like it. :)

I am 36 pages into the edit for Beyond The Gate, added two pages of new stuff to boot. Not bad for two and a half days work! It's nice to be working on my own stuff again--REALLY working on it and not fitting it in between this or that. And even better--creating! Not from scratch, of course; but the creation process lasts until those covers are on, the ISBN is on the back, and Amazon says you can buy it! :)

Right now, I am so tired my eyes are burning. A sick husband means I got very little sleep last night, and what little I got was interupted. Phooey! I might have to go take a nap. Hmmmm...nap. Sounds like a plan.

Also, I hope your husband feels better and you do not catch it.

Thanks, love. He's still feeling bleh, but better. Of course, it's a MAN cold so he won't admit it. ;)

Cheers for the words! I hope your guy feels much better soon, and ditto about not catching it, that would just be mean.

Happy napping, too :)

My nap was sublime. I have a futon up in my loft office, set under the eaves. It feels like a little cave, and when I'm up there, no one can see me. It's like being invisible.

Get well soon, your poorly husband.

And well done you. Well done me as well, frankly. There's nothing like a bit of writer envy to get a girl going! ;)

A symbiotic relationship! :)

I am so thrill-riddled happy, Carol. My big edits for the foreseeable future are DONE. Coming down the road are much less involved edits, and maybe some slush reading to search for that next project to stir the cockles of my editorly soul. I am writing my own stuff! MY ONLY! MY OWN!

Nothing like being deprived for a while to make one truly appreciate the joy, eh?

I feel your joy!

For me, it was a hiatus as much as anything. I knew the chapter was crap. I also knew I had to write it - the scene is crucial to the story. Yesterday I went back & saw what was wrong. (Too long - too rambling - too wordy.)

It still needs work - what matters is - I got back in & nailed that sucker! :)
