Bestest Story EVER

I very rarely comment more than marginally on the many flister stories I read when I become aware of them. It has nothing to do with my opinion of the story or poem or author, but simply that I've decided it's a better idea not to express it--whether favorable or not. It just gets sticky. But every once in a while, I'll read something like this: Copper, Iron, Blood and Love by Mari Ness, published by Apex Magazine, and I can't contain myself. It's a short piece of work, but damn, is it packed with all the things I love a short story to have; and that is rare. I typically don't really like short stories. They're just not my bag. But this? This totally is.

Update on the boy--the status remains quo.

Lastly--We've got a great discussion about how fantasy fiction uses time going on over at Heroines of Fantasy. If you haven't popped in yet--please do! I'll keep the tea kettle warm.

Thanks for the story rec. I started reading it before I left home this morning, but didn't get a chance to finish. I was enjoying it and hope to finish when I get home.

Keeping good thoughts for your son (and you, too). Mine had a rough day yesterday. First bits of depression seeping through since he started taking the meds. (All because of a girl.) We're coping.

I must check out the latest discussion and see if it'll let me post this time. It hasn't the last few times I've tried.

Here's hoping you have a GREAT day!

It hasn't??? That's annoying. It happens to me with other blogging venues now and again.

If you want to share and it won't let you, message me and I'll put it in for you. Sorry about that!

And thanks, love. Your good thoughts and love are most appreciated. I'll keep them going out to you and your boy too!
