Last week...oy

Last week:

Monday: My son, who has been on pain meds for a year now, finally got off them, and spent the week sicker-than-sick.

Tuesday and Friday: Visits to his doc to get things under control, both physically and mentally. Damn--does it ever end for this young man?

Wednesday: passwords were changed without my knowledge. Can we say, "freak out???" All is now well. And this was also the day the phone never stopped ringing. There was one point that I had the landline on one ear, the cell on the other, and while trying to field both calls, the landline call waiting kept beeping, and I was getting texts on the cell from two other people. Crazy.

Thursday: Stem cell injections for my boy. Grueling experience. They took fat from his belly, and marrow from his hip bone. I was not allowed to stay for that part, but they did let me sit with him while they stuck 18 gauge needles into his leg about 20 times. Not something a mama wants to see. :(

Friday: Eric went home, hopefully, for good--but the reason wasn't so good. His dad died and he went home for the funeral. He was quite old (95) but it still hits hard.

I also finished listening to my audio for Beyond the Gate. Woohoo! I clicked "approve" yesterday, and now it is up to the ACX team to give it the last listen. Hopefully, two weeks will see it out.

On a side note--I have decided that I have to treat LJ the way I do FB--if I miss a day or two (or seven!) I can't go back and catch up. I know--it's a crazy idea to even attempt to fulfill! Yet that is what I've always done in here, because I want to see what you all have to say.

If I missed anything big, link me!

Wow, a huge week. Hopefully it won't be a struggle to get meds stabilized. That's something I really dread for the teenage years with my son.

My son has had issues with opiates. Scary shit. After a solid year free of them, he got into an accident and was put on them again. Opiates are NOT an option for him. Just not worth what they do to him, and how hard they are to get off of.

I will hope your son's issues are non-existent to mild!

Lots of poetry and pics- but you can read that any time. :o)

I guess it's a good news/bad news kind of thing--
I didn't receive the Nobel Prize, so you didn't miss it...

Dang! Maybe next year. :)

I think I'll post an updatey linky thingummy...
Meanwhile, I'm glad that things are going as well as they are for you,
even if they're not going perfectly well...

Is there a link I missed?
And thank you. Things actually are going well, just busy. My boy tells me his foot feels warm since the injection. THAT is a new development!

Re: I think I'll post an updatey linky thingummy...
Odd that a foot-warming development could be so heart-warming...

The link was posted moments ago;
it should be showing up on your friends page now.

I am so sorry about your son, ugh the pain.

Happy to hear Eric went home though.

Yes I used to and still do try to catch up if I miss a few days here, but I stopped reading after 3 days old, lol. I am not sure what else to do but there is no sense in feeling guilty over it right?

I have been mostly not around on Fbk, for some reason it feels strange to me.

Sounds like a helluva week. ***HUGS***

I want to know how **both** these men are doing. How is your son? And how is Eric?

Are there already audios of the earlier books available? So I could get A Time Never Lived as an audio book?

Chris is actually doing quite well. He's over the opiate-sick-stuff, and he's feeling pretty good, all around. He's able to go down on some of the ridiculous amounts of medication he was on. Slowly but surely. AND, he says his foot feels warm since the injections. That's encouraging.

Eric is doing well, progressing, but it's a loooong road to recovery, and he might never be physically the same. He's still ERIC though, chomping to get back to all things HRB. I had to read him the riot act a few weeks ago! Too much, too soon is going to land him back in the hospital. With me, his wife, Kim and Karin on his back, he doesn't stand a chance. :)

This is so very, very encouraging to hear. ♥

I hope to, too!

Lots of ups and downs there! I will definitely buy "Beyond the Gate" on audible when you let me know it's real...

I will let you know, Peadar. It should be a couple of weeks.

Hey! I didn't tell you! I used your first name in another story. :) It's a contemporary thing, though.
Jun. 24th, 2014 03:07 pm (UTC)
Well, that makes me quite proud -- even if it is contemporary ;)

It seems to be a time for "life challenges". Lots of people I know, myself included are dealing with all sorts of unpleasantness. Hope this phase passes soon and life calms down a bit ... for us all.
